Navilens
The accessible QR code generation platform NaviLens
Visually impaired people face difficulties using traditional signage, which limits their autonomy in unfamiliar environments. NaviLens codes offer a solution, as they do not require users to know their exact location. At Digio, we have contributed to the development of the NaviLens accessible QR code generation platform, facilitating independence for the visually impaired.
Services
Platforms
NaviLens is an innovative platform designed to improve accessibility for visually impaired people. Its key features include near-instant marker reading, and the ability to read tags from long distances, even tens of metres away.
The challenge
Through the NaviLens app, both visually impaired people and any user can scan accessible codes. NaviLens needed a new platform that would allow the simple and fast creation of accessible QR codes, facilitating their generation and sharing by any user or company.
Our work
At Digio, we have collaborated in the development of NaviLens, creating accessible QR codes that promote independence and autonomy. NaviLens codes provide accurate information about the distance and orientation of the tags, and allow multiple reading, detecting and presenting several tags simultaneously in a convenient way for the user.
Inclusive interaction
NaviLens Accessible QR Code facilitates the use of QR codes for everyone, including the visually impaired. It allows easy scanning of QR codes without the need to focus or frame, providing universal accessibility and promoting independence in interacting with digital technology.
How it works
For a visually impaired person, scanning a QR code can be very difficult. The NaviLens Accessible QR Code allows anyone to use it easily, facilitating interaction and accessibility for all.
The importance of accessibility
NaviLens Accessible QR Codes generated through the platform can be read from further away, on the move, and do not need to be focused or framed. Everyone can use them easily.
Accessibility and innovation
While we helped create the platform to make QR codes accessible through NaviLens apps, the value of NaviLens goes far beyond that. Visually impaired people receive contextualised auditory information when scanning each code, even from far away and without the need to focus or frame. Our work with NaviLens has significantly improved accessibility and autonomy for these users.
