The challenge
The main challenge we faced was the geographical barrier and limited availability of dermatology specialists. Many people, especially those in rural areas or with limited mobility, find it difficult to access specialised dermatology care. In addition, long waiting lists and the need for face-to-face appointments further complicate timely access to diagnosis and treatment.
Our work
We set out to design and develop an app that would break down these barriers and facilitate access to dermatological care. Our team worked closely together to create an intuitive and efficient platform, which allows users to request specialist assessments quickly through the App.
Accessibility
One of the biggest advantages of the iDermApp is that it eliminates, in most cases, the need for face-to-face appointments. This saves patients time and reduces the burden on clinics, allowing for more efficient care. In addition, iDermApp breaks down geographical barriers, allowing people in remote areas or with difficulty accessing dermatology clinics to receive specialised care.
Agile assessment system
iDermApp streamlines the diagnostic process, allowing users to send images and descriptions of their skin problems directly to specialists. Dermatologists can evaluate this data and provide diagnoses and recommendations in significantly less time than that required for a traditional consultation.
